Cuatrimotos (ATVs) are one of the more fun ways to get out onto the rural backroads and trails around La Piedra del Peñol. The catch is that quality varies a lot, and a good chunk of what is sold online is really just vehicle-rental time on paved or semi-paved roads dressed up as an “adventure tour”. The ride is only as good as the trail.
What actually matters
- The trail, not the clock. Compare the actual route, not just how many minutes the machine is yours. Ask what percentage of the ride is genuinely off-road versus on the road.
- Engine size. Ask the cc. A bigger engine handles hills and two riders far better on these trails.
- Ride duration and distance. Get it in real terms, not a vague “tour”.
- One or two riders. Confirm whether the machine and price are for one person or two sharing.
- Where the ride actually starts. Some operations begin well outside town, so part of your paid time is spent getting to the trailhead.
Book the owner, not the website
Do not pick an operator just because it has a slick website or ranks high on Google. Those are often agencies reselling a ride that a local owner actually provides. You get a better price and a straighter answer by contacting the person who owns and runs the machines.
