You do not paraglide over or around La Piedra del Peñol. Marketing that suggests you fly around the Rock is misleading. The experience commonly sold as “Guatapé paragliding” actually takes place well outside town toward San Rafael, at the Mirador area. That flight is beautiful and worth acknowledging.

But if you are staying in Guatapé and want the best overall paragliding day, our recommendation is Cocorná.
